Chemical Dosing (Engineered Unit)
Bulk storage and duty/standby metering pumps that dose a purchased chemical into a process stream, quoted on the chosen chemical's own basis (for example mg/l as Fe).
Which simulation? Running this unit uses the client-side, PLC-style scan simulation in your browser, not the server-side biokinetic process simulation. See Which "simulation" this section is about.

What it models
The first engineered unit whose output is a mass of a chemical and whose ports are on the chemical medium. The chemical and its commercial form are read from the chemical library; the dose is flow-paced on a works flow read as a published signal, with an optional residual trim on an analyser. The drawing carries the tanker fill point with its automatic fill valve, the bulk tank in its bund with level transmitter and hardwired switches, duty/standby diaphragm pumps, the dosing line with carrier water, and the control panel.
Its dose-point port publishes the strength with its basis species, not just a flow.
Not the Chemical Dosing Skid
The ordinary template Chemical Dosing Skid (chemical-dosing-skid) is a different, published template that places geometry only. This page is the engineered unit.
