P&ID software for chemical and process plants
Balance mass across recycle loops, and run HAZOP on the same model as the drawing.

The work in this sector
Model the P&ID and the process togetherUnit operations, recycle streams and control loops live in one structured model, so the P&ID and the process data cannot drift apart.
Balance mass across recycle loopsRun a mass balance inside the process simulation, with recycle streams solved by tear-stream convergence rather than assumed away.
Run HAZOP against the same modelCreate HAZOP studies with nodes and deviations tied to the model, and export the worksheet and report — not a spreadsheet copied from the drawing.
How ErgoPlanner fits
Each job above is one product, not a bundled feature you can’t see the edges of.

Standards this sector uses
- ISO 10628-2 process diagram symbolsThe process-industry symbol standard the registry is built around.
- BS 1553 P&ID symbolsMapped against ISO 10628-2 and ISA-5.1 in the same cross-standard registry.
- ISA-5.1 instrumentation symbolsInstrument bubbles, tag formats and loop symbols for control and instrumentation.
Starting points
No named chemical-process starting template is seeded yet — the two published templates today (Intermediate Pumping Station, Sewage Pumping Station with Overflow Storage) are both water and wastewater assemblies. The same parametric template system builds a chemical-process template; none has been authored yet. This is an open gap, not a hidden one.
What we can show you, today
2,660 symbols, counted
Across 100 shipped libraries, bucketed by the standard each follows — ISO 10628-2, BS 1553 and ISA-5.1 among them. A count of the corpus, not an estimate.
Recycle loops solved, not assumed
The mass-balance solver converges recycle streams by tear-stream iteration (`tear_stream_solver.rs::solve_recycle`) rather than requiring a hand-closed loop before the model will balance.
