Cookies and local storage

Draft — not yet legally reviewed
This page is a placeholder pending the site owner’s legal review. It has not been written or checked by a qualified adviser, the sections marked as the owner’s to supply are still blank, and nothing on it should be relied on as a binding notice or as legal advice.
Last updated 2026-09-16This page describes exactly what ErgoPlanner stores on your device, and why. It is generated from the same declaration the Manage Cookies dialog reads, so the two cannot disagree. The short version: ErgoPlanner sets one cookie, and it is the one that keeps you signed in. Optional categories currently in use are listed below. The application also uses your browser’s local storage to hold your settings and the work you have not saved yet; that stays on your device.
Strictly necessary
Always on
Required for the site and the application to work: signing you in, keeping you signed in, remembering which company you are working in, and holding your unsaved work on your own device. These cannot be switched off, because without them there is no session and no saved work.
Sign-in session — cookieThe only cookie this product sets. Issued by the API when you sign in and sent back to renew your session so you are not signed out mid-edit. It is HttpOnly, so page scripts cannot read it.Lifetime: 7 days from issue · Flags: HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict
refreshToken
Session and account — local storageThe short-lived access token the app sends with each API call, the signed-in user, and which company you are currently working in. Without these a page reload would sign you out and lose your tenant.Lifetime: Until you sign out or clear site data

Your settings and profile — local storageInterface preferences you have set: light or dark mode, notification choices, enabled plugins and feature flags, and a cached copy of your own profile.Lifetime: Until changed, signed out, or site data is cleared

Workspace and editor layout — local storageHow you have arranged the drawing editor and the data tables: panel sizes, visible columns, saved filter presets, canvas and title-block settings. Restored so the workspace looks the same when you come back.Lifetime: Until changed or site data is cleared

Local drafts, autosave and caches — local storageYour unsaved work and the caches that make the editor usable offline and fast: autosaved drawings and simulations, changes queued for the next sync, imported symbol libraries, recently used symbols and searches, and rendered template thumbnails. This is your own project data kept on your own device — it is not sent anywhere on its own account.Lifetime: Until synced, discarded, or site data is cleared

Diagnostics you switch on yourself — local storageOff by default. Written only if you turn on a debug switch — the performance probe, the WebGPU fallback override, or a catalogue role override used while troubleshooting. They hold no personal data and are not read by anything else.Lifetime: Until you turn the switch off or clear site data

Your cookie choice — local storageThe decision you made in the Manage Cookies dialog, with the version of the declaration you were shown. Stored so you are not asked on every page — and so that a refusal is remembered as a refusal.Lifetime: Until you change it or clear site data

Performance
Not in use
Would measure how quickly pages and the drawing editor load so slow paths can be found and fixed.Nothing is currently stored under this category. The control for it exists in the Manage Cookies dialog and is honoured by the application, so if anything is added here in future it will not run until you allow it.
Analytics
Optional
Counts visits to the public site and records which pages and buttons are used, to decide what to build next. Never loads, and sends nothing, until you allow it here.
Anonymous analytics identifier — local storageA randomly generated id, not tied to your account, email or any other identifier, created the moment you allow Analytics so your page views on the public site can be grouped into a session. Carries no personal data itself. If the site operator has not configured an analytics collector (the VITE_ANALYTICS_ENDPOINT build setting), nothing about your visit is ever sent anywhere — the id sits unused on your device.Lifetime: Until you withdraw Analytics consent or clear site data

Advertising
Not in use
Would build a profile of your interests, or share it with advertising networks, to target advertisements.Nothing is currently stored under this category. The control for it exists in the Manage Cookies dialog and is honoured by the application, so if anything is added here in future it will not run until you allow it.
Changing your mindYour choice is recorded in your browser’s local storage, not in a cookie, so it is never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser’s site data for this site erases it along with everything else listed above, and you will be asked again. You can also reopen the settings at any time:
Still to be completed by the site ownerThe sections above are an accurate technical description of this application. A complete cookie and privacy policy also requires the following, which this page deliberately does not invent. They must be supplied and the page reviewed by a qualified adviser before it is relied on as a legal notice.
Data controller — OWNER TO SUPPLYThe legal entity that decides why and how this information is processed — registered name, registered address, and company number.
Contact for data protection — OWNER TO SUPPLYThe address a visitor writes to in order to ask a question, request their data, or complain — and the data protection officer or representative, if one is appointed.
Legal basis and jurisdiction — OWNER TO SUPPLYWhich regimes this product is offered under, and the lawful basis relied on for each purpose described above.
Retention — OWNER TO SUPPLYHow long the corresponding server-side records are kept once a session ends. The device-side lifetimes above are accurate; the server side is a policy decision, not a code fact.
Processors and sub-processors — OWNER TO SUPPLYAny third party that processes this data on the controller’s behalf — hosting, e-mail delivery, and any AI provider configured for the tenant — with the countries they operate in.
Supervisory authority — OWNER TO SUPPLYThe authority a visitor may complain to, and how to reach it.
